Raindrops Keep Falling

Day 8: Bergen

Norway Fun Fact: Bergen is the European capital of rainfall. So, fittingly and as predicted, the rain set in today. However, around here, rain doesn’t stop anyone from being outside so I followed suit, and went to a few more sights before I went shopping!

My first stop was the aquarium! For being such a small place, they have quite the array of animals and exhibits! Here are a few of my favorite pictures:

Starfish eating a fish!
Finding Nemo!
Some sort of spiny crab
Magnus got to meet a sea turtle!

Penguins!

After we left the aquarium, it was off to a couple places outside of the city. Next stop: Edvard Grieg museum. Now, if you’re like me and didn’t ha e a clue who that was, I’ll help you out. He was a famous Norwegian (obviously) composer and pianist. The museum is at what was his home of 22 years, and is now a living exhibition which includes many original furnishings, including one of his pianos.

On the way back to Bergen, we made a stop at Gamlehaugen which is the residence of the Norwegian Royal Family, and has been since 1927. The gardens were amazing!

Rain can make for some fun pictures!

The rest of the afternoon was filled with wandering through various shops, and that’s never a bad thing! Tomorrow is my last day in Bergen before flying to Reykjavik, Iceland on Monday, and I’m not sure what’s in store yet, but I’ll be sure to make the most of it, even with a forecasted 100% chance of rain!

P.S. I’ve received the photo packages from both of my hikes, so I’ll be posting some of them soon for you all to see!
